Just a line to say thank you to Dave for the very nice Email which he has sent.

Although I know next to nothing about stamp collecting I enjoy this forum. It would be nice if a few members chipped in a little more. I wonder if a lot of members hold back because they feel that they cannot make a "serious" contribution re " Machins". As a newbie on a new forum I felt like that, but I took the plunge and " strayed off the subject" and the result was to be encouraged by more senior members.

As an aside, something I'm famous for. Of the 120 members a little more than 50% have made one or less postings. ........just a thought.

So could I add another thank you to members of this forum, and as Dave say's , you know who you are.

Brian ( six regionals short of a full set Sad

Just keep in mind, Brian, we all knew next to nothing at some point and in fact much or the little that we thought we knew then was wrong or mis-understood.
,
In fact, before 1967 none of us knew anything about Machins. Shocked Laughing Laughing Laughing

Apart from Mummy and Daddy Machin and all the other little Machins. Smile

But seriously, on so many forums the " Experts" just show off and patronise the beginner.
